Facebook scraps News tab to focus on Reels

Facebook[ニュース]Peace of mind for your tabs. My friend’s mother loved you very much.
Next month, Meta will discontinue Facebook News, the news hub in the platform’s Bookmarks section, in the US and Australia. The UK, France and Germany have already shut down Facebook News, a move that comes as no surprise to anyone who has watched Meta’s continued attempts to distance the platform from politics and news.
The company said it is retiring the tab to “focus our time and resources on what our users have told us they want to see more of on our platform, like short-form videos.” That’s right, folks, you won’t have to post news on Facebook anymore and the platform will be able to spend more time and money on Reels.
Why can’t I see news on Facebook or Instagram in Canada?
“We know people don’t come to Facebook for news or political content; they come to connect with others and discover new opportunities, passions and interests.” Mehta said in a blog post.. “As we previously shared in 2023, people around the world will see less than 3% of the news in their Facebook feed, making it just a small part of the Facebook experience for the majority of people.”
You can still view links to news articles and follow news publishers’ Facebook pages and accounts. But the News tab, which brought publishers millions of dollars in content deals, will all be phased out. As the blog post notes, there are no new commercial deals for news, and there will be no “new Facebook products specifically targeted at news publishers” in the future.
