Aaron Sorkin— who wrote the screenplay for the 2010 film — shared that he is working on a sequel, noting that he is trying to write a script about Facebook’s connection to the January 6 attack on the US Capitol.
Hinting at his thesis work for the film, Sorkin said during April 26 live recording from City podcast “I Blame Facebook for the Events of January 6th.”
“Facebook, among other things, tunes its algorithm to promote the most controversial content possible,” he continued. “Because that’s what will increase engagement. This is what will lead you to what they call “infinite scrolling” in the hallways of Facebook.
Sorkin did not specify whether the original stars will be involved in the sequel. Andrew Garfield, Jessie Eisenberg, Armie Hammer And Justin Timberlake.
