New York City cold case victim over 50 identified after DNA matched 9/11 victim
Patricia Kathleen McGlone went unnamed for more than 20 years and was missing for more than 50 years after being murdered and abandoned inside a building on 46th Street in Manhattan, the New York police confirmed to Fox News Digital.
After her remains were found in 2003, she became known as the “Midtown Jane Doe.”
“As it hit a concrete floor, a skull rolled out,” Detective Ryan Glas of the NYPD’s cold case unit told WNBC-TV. “She was tied with [an] “The electrical cord and the remains that were found were exactly how she was, she was in the fetal position.”
McGlone was finally identified this year when a family tree led to a match with a relative who was killed on 9/11.

“We were able to verify that they were from the same family,” Glas explained. “Detective Gerard Gardner was the detective who caught the case. He did an enormous amount of work.”
McGlone was 16 when she was murdered in what investigators believe was 1969 and abandoned where a nightclub frequented by rock stars used to be.

“She was Catholic and lived in Sunset Park,” Glas said of McGlone. “She was baptized, she received communion and finally received confirmation. She went to public school and Catholic school. She went to Charles Dewey High School in Sunset Park.”

glass he told the station The unit will now focus on finding his killer. “The first thing you have to have is the victim’s name because it gives you a starting point,” she explained.

McGlone also had a ring with his initials engraved on his body, a silent cry of identification.

“PMcG matches her name. Patricia Kathleen McGlone,” Glas told the station.
She also carried with her a toy soldier, which may have belonged to a baby she had, investigators speculate.
