Jon Bon Jovi admits he ‘got away with murder’ and had ‘100 girls in my life’ in his early days as a rock star
Jon Bon Jovi is ready and willing to admit that he indulged a bit in the rock star lifestyle after Bon Jovi skyrocketed to fame in the 1980s.
Although he began dating his wife Dorothea Hurley in 1980, he was “no saint” as the band grew in popularity, he confessed on “Halfway There,” a special interview filmed with Michael Strahan for ABC.
Still, he was never completely convinced of his own exaggeration.
“I got away with it,” Bon Jovi told Strahan of those early days. “I’m a rock and roll star, I’m not a saint. You know, I’m not saying there weren’t 100 girls in my life; I’m Jon Bon Jovi. It was pretty cool.”

He continued, “But do you think I was ever going to jeopardize my… anything by believing that the narcissist in me was real? What a stupid thing. What kind of excess does a man need to fuel that fire?” It’s just not worth it.”
Bon Jovi released their first album in 1984, when the singer and Hurley were already an established couple. When the two married in 1989, he was, as Strahan put it, a “sex symbol.”
While Bon Jovi didn’t go into detail about past exploits, he was quick to praise his wife.
“I have no doubt that this world turns because of her,” he said. “For what she did to keep the kids well, what she does to keep me well, what we do together to keep things well. There’s no doubt about it.”

“She’s certainly not afraid to criticize me for something,” he continued, “but she’s also there when I fall. And I’m there for her when she falls. No matter where I’ve gone in my career, the ups and downs or the downs, we went there. together.”
The “Bad Medicine” singer explained that “growing up together is an integral part” of a marriage, adding that he and Hurley “come from nowhere, same hometown, same high school, same group of peripheral friends.”
The couple’s wedding was an elopement in Las Vegas – no one in their lives, especially fans, knew they intended to get married.
“It was hell from the moment we started telling anyone,” Bon Jovi recalled. “My parents, doctor [McGhee, the band’s manager at the time], the band. “You think people would be happy for us!”

In a recent interview with Fox News Digital, Bon Jovi spoke more about the current state of their marriage, explaining: “I don’t think we need rules. I think it’s just the mutual admiration society. I think it’s as simple as that. They wake up in the morning excited to be together. They admire and respect each other.
