Crash outside White House security barrier leaves one dead: police
According to police, an accident occurred Saturday night in front of the White House, leaving one person dead.
The Metropolitan Police Department responded around 10:45 pm Saturday night to reports that a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed collided with an outer perimeter gate of the White House complex.
Safety protocols were implemented, but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a statement issued by the Secret Service.
“Safety protocols were implemented as officers removed the vehicle and attempted to render aid to the driver who was discovered dead,” according to the Secret Service.

There is no threat to the White House.
The portion of the fatal accident will be turned over to the Washington Metropolitan Police Department’s Accident Investigation Unit and the Secret Service investigation continues.
