Spotting scams online: Helpful tips from Cash App
Today, thanks to peer-to-peer (P2P) services such as cash app, our money is more accessible than ever. It means there are fewer obstacles between us and what we want in life.
Unfortunately, the P2P nature of these platforms also means that scammers are more likely to take advantage of people who are unaware. By keeping a few important rules in mind, you can protect yourself, your family, your friends, and most importantly, your money.
Although there are many different types of scams online, a few overall rules can go a long way.
1. Only send payments to trusted accounts
While Cash App hosts giveaways, these are only offered through official social media accounts and not from unaffiliated third parties. Please be sure to double-check all information.

2. Don’t send money with the promise of more in return
This trick has been around since before the internet. If you see a message that says you can get untold riches by just sending a small amount of tokens at first, please report it immediately. If it sounds too good to be true…
3. Don’t share your sign-in code or PIN with anyone
A Cash App representative may contact you for information, but they won’t ask for sensitive information like sign-in details or bank account numbers. Please do not send this information to anyone. Please report it and an official person will respond.
If you think you’ve been scammed, your best bet is to contact Cash App support directly from the app. On the Cash App home screen, first tap your profile icon, then tap[サポート]Choose. You can go there and deal with the problem.
Contact the Cash App support team at 1 (800) 969-1940 or contact the support services of your bank, credit card, or other financial institution or platform where you suspect you made the unauthorized payment.
