Hamas supporters could be added to list that includes terrorism suspects if GOP bill becomes law

FIRST ON FOX: Legislation introduced Tuesday would place supporters of terrorists, including those who support Hamas and those who call for violence against Jews, on the no-fly list, as anti-Israel protests on college campuses sweep the streets. universities throughout the country.

Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Kan., is introducing the No-Fly Terrorist Act, which would put people on the Transportation Security Administration’s no-fly list if they have encouraged violence against Jews, have pledged support for terrorist groups or have been disciplined. by higher education institutions for such conduct.

Terrorist organizations are designated as such by the Secretary of State and include Hamas, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and the Palestine Liberation Front. Currently, the no-fly list is a small subset of the terrorist watch list that contains information on known or suspected terrorists.

Blackburn said it is “unacceptable for terrorist sympathizers to threaten the safety of Jewish students in the United States with little or no consequences.”

“When protesters chant ‘We are Hamas’ and carry ‘Death to America’ signs, we must believe them. Any student, teacher, or paid protester in the United States who promotes terrorism or participates in terrorist acts on behalf of Hamas should be immediately imprisoned. the TSA no-fly list,” he said.

The legislation will be introduced as an amendment to the reauthorization of the Federal Aviation Administration currently moving through the Senate.

The bill comes days after the House voted to expand the legal definition of anti-Semitism used to enforce anti-discrimination laws. The bill passed the House overwhelmingly by 320 votes in favor and 91 against, with a majority of Republicans and Democrats.
