Angel Reese reacts to criticism for attending WNBA pre-game meeting
Angel Reese is not going to let this criticism spread.
After fans slammed the Chicago Sky player for attending the Met Gala on May 6 the day before her preseason game against the New York Liberty, the WNBA star called time out.
“A lot of people told me that I shouldn’t have gone to the Met Gala, that I wasn’t going to focus on playing against the runners-up,” she said. during a recent press conference. “And I went to the Met Gala, trashed the Met Gala in New York, came back smitten with New York. This is what I do.” (ICYMI, in the May 7 game, the Sky defeated the NY Liberty 101:53.)
What else does she do? Be an example for other women.
“I trust so many people, knowing that I’m not one-dimensional,” the 22-year-old noted. “Women don’t have to be one-dimensional. They don’t have to do just one thing. I think that’s what helps the game grow. People love me off the court too, they love me because I am who I am and I talk about things that a lot of people might be afraid to talk about or stand up for themselves.”
