Gemini AI is about to make your Google searches completely different.Method is as follows
Google’s AI tool Gemini is poised to make a big splash in Google Search and could change the way we use the search engine. The tool has been available at Search Labs for some time, but it’s about to be released globally with some new enhancements.
At Tuesday’s Google I/O event, the search giant will help you understand complex multi-question queries, plan your next vacation or meal, and even use Google Lens to search on video while traveling. We introduced some features you can expect in the future. I don’t know how to ask questions.
Look at this: Google introduces multi-step inference to search
These features were in addition to other AI-centric features and services that dominated the Google I/O keynote. For more I/O announcements, check out the new AI features coming to Gmail mobile and how Google is further upping its AI game.
AI Overview may be the only search result you need.
Google is introducing multi-step inference using AI-powered search to answer more complex questions. Examples given during the multi-part question keynote were Google search to find the best yoga or pilates studio in Boston, view details of their introductory offer, and calculate walking time from Beacon Hill. That’s what I was asking. Gemini can tackle each part of this question at a time, add information within seconds to come up with an answer, and then refine that information.
Instead of the traditional search method of breaking this complex question into components and searching for each one separately, you’ll chat with Gemini to find the right studio. In particular, Google’s AI overview keeps users on Google’s search page, rather than immediately linking to third-party he websites from the search results page.
Introduction to AI is not limited to complex questions that typically require multiple searches. General search queries can also generate AI summaries, and Gemini appears to be aware of the context of the results it provides, and in some cases provides a chip at the top of the results to generate an AI summary instead. Just do it.

Use search to plan meals, parties, and more
Gemini also makes Google searches more planned, Google says. As an example regarding meal planning, when you specify your tastes and preferences in a Google search, meal plans with recipes and shopping lists appear. If part of your plan isn’t quite right, you can ask Google Search to tweak it until it’s exactly what you want to make and eat.
Instead of you having to search for each recipe and put together a plan yourself, Gemini will create one for you. Google expects you to use search to plan trips, parties, workout routines, and more. Once you’re happy with your plan, you can easily export it for use elsewhere.
Video search with Google Lens
In addition to the Google Search text box, you’ll soon be able to ask questions using video. Gemini’s multimodal understanding allows you to analyze live video and provide answers to questions about it. Examples of this new video search included how to fix a broken record player arm and a stuck camera lever. Both are when you want to fix something, but you don’t know the make and model of your record player or camera, or the specific name of the part that isn’t working.
This feature leverages Google Lens, which has been used for image searches for years and is already built into search, so video seems like a natural next step.
Search powered by Gemini is rolling out to users in the US starting today and over the next few weeks. We plan to expand to other countries soon.
