Angel Reese’s mother denies that her daughter’s X publication was directed at Caitlin Clark: “Of course you are interested in the clicks”
A since-deleted Angel Reese post was completely innocent, her mother says.
The Chicago Sky rookie appeared to rekindle her feud with former college basketball rival Caitlin Clark on social media Thursday night.
The Sky handed the New York Liberty their first loss of the season with a 90-81 victory. Reese, who was selected by Sky with the No. 7 overall pick out of LSU, added 13 points and nine rebounds.

However, in celebrating her victory, Reese took a barely-veiled shot at the Indiana Fever rookie, as debate continues over her impact on the league.
“And that’s about making a WIN in a crowded area, not just because of one player on our charter flight,” he wrote in a since-deleted post on X.
The post was widely assumed to be about Clark and speculation grew when it was deleted. However, Reese’s mother says he was actually targeting the media.

The speculation also led to “racist and vile comments,” he said.
“She wasn’t attacking CC, but because you and the rest of those ‘sons of the corn’ thought she was and once again sent her racist and vile comments. Her comment was directed at the media, but of course , you’re about to do it. clicks,” he wrote with a shrug emoji.
The league’s recent growth is indisputable, but Reese believes it goes beyond Clark.
“It’s not just one person, I think people don’t realize that (because) the narrative that exists is that just one person changes the game,” he said Thursday during a news conference. “There are a lot of us: me, Kamilla (Cardoso), Cameron (Brink), Rickea (Jackson). There are so many great players and it’s been needed for a long time and just being able to see that our impact has been able to change the game. “
