Makeup Artist Ash K. Holm Shares Makeup Tips for Oily Skin

The 34-year-old also suggested mattifying certain parts of the face to avoid breakage.

“Take your powder and lightly apply it to areas that your makeup might separate,” she advised. “It holds makeup in place and doesn’t crease at all. But it must be a fine powder, otherwise it may have the opposite effect.”

Her recommendation? Charlotte Tilbury’s Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder.. “It’s buildable,” Ash shared, “but it feels very light on the skin.”

And if you really want to take your look to the next level, don’t be afraid to customize it.

“One thing I love is that I’ll take Spray to customize one size and I’ll spray it in two layers,” the beauty expert said. “I’ll blot my face with setting spray, take a break to breathe, and then do another round.”

In between layers, Ash takes a powder puff and gently rubs the powder into her skin while the setting spray is still drying.

“When I really want it to last, I’ll use either Charlotte Tilbury Setting Spray or Urban decay– she continued. — The point is to apply one of three layers. It really locks it in and makes it look flawless. And it won’t budge in this really hot climate.”
