In a letter to the British Army’s Irish Guards, the Princess of Wales expressed her regret at missing the Colonel’s Review, a rehearsal for the annual Color Troop parade in honor of King Charles IIIbirthday. At the pre-event, Kate, 42, accepted her first salute as the unit’s honorary colonel.
“I wanted to write and let you know how proud I am of the entire regiment for the upcoming colonel review and display of the colours,” reads the letter posted on the Irish Guards website. X page. “I appreciate that everyone on this year’s squad has trained for months and dedicated many hours to ensure their uniforms and training are impeccable.”
The message continued: “It remains a great honor to be your Colonel and I am very sorry that I cannot be saluted at this year’s Colonel’s Review. Please pass on my apologies to the entire regiment, however I do hope to be able to represent you all again very soon, please pass on my best wishes and good luck to all involved.”
