Today’s NYT Strands Tips, Answers, Help, June 13, #102

Stay tuned for Wordle and Connections, and here comes Strands. Like those two games, Strands is an online word game from The New York Times. Currently, Strands is in beta, so it doesn’t appear in the New York Times Games app yet. Direct to the gameIt’s also in beta, meaning it’s still in testing, so it may be improved before it’s fully released. In this story, we’ll go into more detail about the rules for Strands.
To be honest, Strands reminds me of those old-fashioned word search books they used to sell at the register at the grocery store: You’re given a grid of letters, but no list of words. That’s what makes this game fun and frustrating. And if you’re reading this, you probably need help. Today’s Strand PuzzleSo, let’s get started. Today’s Strands Puzzle Hint
Today’s Strands theme is: Good times are coming.
But if that doesn’t help, here’s a tip: Keep on partying, Garth.
Clue words to unlock in-game hints
Strands will point out theme words, but it takes effort: Once you find three words that are four letters or more, Strands will highlight the theme word. These are the clue words I used to get hints, but any word that is four letters or more will work.
rope, roper, pain, reach, hear, raft, part, party, trap, port, room, poor, mooring, pale, shear, lamp
Today’s Strands Puzzle Answers
These are thematic answers that tie into the theme of fun things to come. The object of the puzzle is to find eight that contain the theme word, a spangram, that stretches from one side of the puzzle to the other. Once you find all eight, all the letters on the board will be used.
boat, dirty, favor, hearty, animal, disgusting, wrecker
Today’s Strand Spangle
Today’s Strands Spangram is AFTERPARTY, which means the answers are all words that can be used in a phrase after the word “party”.
Let’s party, guys.
How to play NYT Strand
1. Use today’s theme to find words related to that topic. When you find one, drag or click the letters in order. Click the last letter twice to submit your guess. If you find a themed word, it will light up blue and stay that way.
2. Any other words you find are considered hint words that serve as hints to the theme word. Once you find three hint words (each must be at least four letters long), the game will reward you by revealing the theme word. However, if you are unable to decode it, you can find three more hint words and the game will highlight the letters of the theme word in order.
3. Hunting Spanglama special thematic word that runs throughout the puzzle – sometimes running horizontally, sometimes running top to bottom – summarises the theme of the puzzle.
4. Once completed, all letters on the board will be used for a theme word or spangram. The theme word will fill the entire board and will not overlap.
