McDonald’s employee arrested after shooting at customers

A Florida McDonald’s employee was recently arrested on suspicion of shooting at customers.

In accordance with Fox 35 Orlando22 Chassidy Gardner was recently booked into the Polk County Jail. She is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The publication adds that on Friday, June 14, Gardner got into an argument with car service customers while working her shift at a fast food restaurant.

This was reported by the Lakeland Police Department. Facebook that “the dispute began… when customers/victims felt their order was incorrect.”

In turn, Gardner allegedly began arguing with customers. Then, as they attempted to exit the window, Gardner allegedly threw a drink at the patrons.

“Two customers exited the vehicle and opened the window to throw drinks at Gardner, who then armed herself with a handgun,” the police department said in a Facebook post.

At that point, the shoppers reportedly drove to another location in the parking lot as Gardner left the store. The McDonald’s employee was reportedly armed with her weapon and allegedly fired it at the customer’s vehicle, who was reportedly “shot at least once.”

“Customers drove around the west side of the store, and Gardner left the store with a gun to continue the argument. While still on the street, Gardner fired her weapon as the vehicle was leaving the parking lot and the Victim’s vehicle was struck at least once. Gardner was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon,” the post concludes.

According to the agency on June 18. NBC 6 South FloridaIt is unclear if anyone was injured in the shooting.

McDonald’s franchisee commented on the incident

In accordance with Law and crimeOn Saturday, June 15, Gardner was released from the Polk County Jail on $15,000 bail. The publication added that it remains unclear whether she has hired a lawyer.

Meanwhile, fast food franchisee Lanny Sumpter released a statement on the matter.

“The safety and well-being of my customers and team is of the utmost importance to me as a business owner, and I am shocked and concerned by the actions of this employee,” Sumpter shared. “My organization does not tolerate violence of any kind, and an employee was terminated due to a number of violations of organization policy. We will continue to cooperate with law enforcement in their ongoing investigation.”

Fast food workers recently reported being harassed
