Kodak Black reveals which line from “Super Gremlin” he regrets

Kodak black is doubling down on his sobriety efforts! The Florida rapper recently got candid with fans about the lyrics in his hit song “Super Gremlin” that he no longer stands for.

For context: “Super Gremlin” peaked at third place on Billboard’s Hot 100 in April 2022. A few months before that, in January, the song is announced reached number one on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart. It is reported to be certified platinum, according to Hip-HopDX.

Now, more than two years later, he’s condemning the mention of Percocet use in the three-minute track. The lyrics go like this: “I knew the percolator was fake, but I ate it anyway / ‘Cause I’m a gremlin.”

Here’s what Kodak Black had to say about “Super Gremlin”

In a video posted to the X (formerly Twitter) account @omgmediaarchive, Kodak spoke to a live audience about his change of heart. He admitted that he had doubts when he first wrote the lyrics, but continued anyway.

“But it’s sad, man, because I’m like, ‘This shit gets stuck in your head so quickly,’” Black shared into the microphone. “I was like, ‘Damn, I don’t want to say this shit, but I know this bitch will do it, bro.’ A nigga don’t play like that, man.”

He continued by admitting that during the times he took the pills, he averaged “about 40 percs a day” and sometimes up to 100. “If I fucked with that fake shit, I’d be dead by now, bro.” he added.

“I’m just being clear right now, I don’t want y’all to hear this and take this and think it’s okay to do this shit, you hear me? Hell no,” he said at the end of the clip.

The rapper’s previous comments on drug use

Kodak Black opened up about his past Percocet use in April on social media, admitting that he had never felt “happier” after significantly reducing his dose of the drug. While he admitted he wasn’t against Perc yet, he said his low dosage came as a surprise to him.

Kodak Black isn’t the only celebrity to embrace a drug-free lifestyle in recent times. Earlier this month, Quando Rondo revealed that he’s spent the last eight months sober after battling drug addiction.
