A lawyer who attended the judge’s “meeting with one of the parties” says

Advocate Kayla Bumpus was filling in for a colleague when she found herself at the center of the latest turn of events Young Bandit‘s YSL challenge. Earlier this week, Judge Ural Glanville stayed the trial of Tagger and his accomplices.

A judicial official is considering whether he should recuse himself from YSL’s trial after Thugger’s lawyer… Brian Steeleaccused him of arranging a “meeting in the absence of the other party.” As of July 1, the judge is awaiting another judge’s decision on what to do next.

For the purposes of this context, a “meeting in absentia” is a motion, hearing, or order made at the request of and in the interests of only one party.

YSL trial paused because of THIS

This week on TSR Investigates, Justin Carter talks to Bumpus about what happened at the meeting that delayed the trial.

Carter takes us through a 56-page document that details a meeting between YSL Judge Ural Glanville, Bumpus, her client and government witness Lil Woody, a court reporter, prosecutor Simone Hilton, and another prosecutor.

“We don’t want you in custody. I can’t say it any other way, but we don’t want you in custody. The only thing holding you back is your refusal to testify,” one of Woody’s prosecutors said.

The witness tried to invoke his Fifth Amendment right on the stand when asked about his age. Watch the episode below to hear what attorney Bumpus had to say about the encounter. Carter also explains how Lil Woody waived his immunity and became a government witness.

Kayla Bumpus Claims She Didn’t Tell Young Thug’s Lawyer About Meeting

Kayla insists she didn’t tell Brian Steele about the meeting, but admits she did Additional Information when he pressed him. Lil Woody was at the meeting as Woody’s representative on behalf of a colleague.

“The problem with the meeting is not what was discussed. The problem is that Mr. Copeland was already a witness under oath. So the defense council should have at least known about the meeting,” Bumpus told Justin Carter.

Young Thug’s attorney, Steel, confronted Judge YSL about the meeting in open court. When Bryan refused to reveal the source who told him about the meeting, Ural accused him of contempt of court.

“I didn’t tell Attorney Steele. I don’t know who told Attorney Steele, but once he was told, he came and questioned me, and then I gave him a brief rundown of what happened at the meeting,” Kayla added.
