Metcalfe told E! News that the famous scene in which Kate begs Jon to wear a thong and sends him to the wrong hotel room during an away trip to a game wasn’t in the original script. There was probably a good reason for that.
“In fact, [director] Betty Thomas “She kind of gently pitched the thong idea to me,” he recalls, laughing. “She said, ‘Jesse, I want you to wear a thong in the movie.’ And I was like, ‘What?! I don’t think so, it’s not going to happen.'”
But all’s well that’s well behind. “Within three days, she kind of convinced me,” Metcalf said. “It’s comedy, you have to go there, you have to do everything to make people laugh. So I went there. I don’t regret it.”
He not only laughed, but added, “I think I did it.”
And as if there were any doubts, Snow said USA Weekly“It was actually him. Jesse and I were at the gym every morning before work and after work before we shot that scene. Jesse and I were just hanging out in the gym and looking at each other like, ‘I can’t believe this is our life.’ It was him. He really worked out!”
