The film, which was released on July 6, 1994, was the first to come out and displace The Lion King from No. 1, where the Disney hit reigned for three weeks, and stayed there for 10 weeks straight. It took just 66 days to Forrest Gump surpassing the $250 million mark, and became Paramount’s fastest-grossing film to that point, passing the $100 million, $200 million, and then $300 million marks.
