Dutch sperm donor Jonathan Jacob Meyer reacts to Netflix documentary
On June 24, Meyer uploaded the video via YouTubeIn the 15-minute video, a sperm donor claims the Netflix documentary is actually about him.
“First of all, I don’t know much about it because I didn’t participate. I refused… but… I was right not to participate,” Meyer explained.
The donors explained that they believed the documentary’s title was “misleading” and intended to be sensational. E NewsMeyer claims to have fathered about 550 children from sperm donors, and the company “magically” increased that number.
“I don’t know where they get that number from, I don’t know what they base it on,” he reportedly said, before adding, “I haven’t seen the documentary, so I wonder what they base it on. But as far as I know, I’ve helped 550 kids… So somehow they manage to magically add 450 kids to my record.”

In accordance with NetflixThe documentary premiered on July 3. The next day, Meyer returned to YouTube with another videoIn the 10-minute video, the sperm donor called the families featured in the documentary “hooligans.”
“This is a very abusive situation. This is a couple of abusive people; they have teamed up and they want to destroy a very good person, one of the best donors you could ask for,” he explained. “By doing this, they are not only hurting me, but they are hurting families around the world with donor children, and they need to be stopped…”
Meyer explained that he never lied to his parents about the number of children he fathered and always followed the recommendations of the various sperm banks. Instead, Meyer noted that sperm banks do not disclose this information to families.
In one of his latest published videoMeyer apparently explained that he had filed a defamation lawsuit against Netflix, alleging that he occasionally mixed his sperm with that of another donor.

In accordance with NetflixMan With 1,000 Kids is a three-part documentary series that explores Meyer’s donor journey. The film documents the stories of different families who claim Meyer donated his sperm “in multiple countries and continents” and “lied” to parents about the extent of his efforts.
“You only have one life on this Earth — why would he choose to use his charm, his intelligence, and his creativity to try to reproduce on a mass scale and deceive all these people?” the documentary’s director, Josh Allott, reportedly said. “Having spoken to a lot of the parents who have met him and people who know him well, it seems like it’s almost become an addiction for him.”
In addition to speaking with families who have used Meyer’s donor sperm, the documentary also followed Meyer’s recent trial, where a Dutch judge banned him from donating sperm in the Netherlands. The judge also ordered sperm banks in the country to immediately “destroy any of his sperm available to new parents.”
Additional details about the previous lawsuit against the donor
As The Shade Room previously reported, Meyer gained national attention in April 2023 after reports emerged that one of the mothers who used his sperm had sued him to stop donating.
The woman reportedly claimed that Meyer lied to her by claiming that he fathered “at most” 25 children. Furthermore, the mother explained that if she had known the true size of his donations, she would not have used Meyer’s sperm.
“When I think about the consequences this could have for my child, I get a bad feeling and I start to doubt his future: how many more children will there be?” the woman said. Insider.
The Netflix documentary appeared to delve more deeply into the “repercussions,” with parents expressing concerns that Meyer’s fathering of so many children around the world would increase children’s susceptibility to incestuous relationships.
