“Brainwashed” at home, but never bored
Farias also denied information received from both publications that his mother sexually abused him.
“She didn’t force herself on me or anything like that,” he told KRIV. “It wasn’t something that would make me go get a rape kit or go file a police report. It would never be anything like that. Just things that really made me feel uncomfortable, and I didn’t have any references or other people that I could lean on to figure out whether what she was doing was healthy or not.”
Asked if he and his mother had a normal relationship, Farias replied: “After all this, no. After everything she did, and frankly, I don’t want any relationship with her.”
Police Lt. Zamora said July 6 that Farias was connected to victim services so he had resources to help with recovery, but based on their interviews with him, there were no reports of alleged sexual abuse. “If it is uncovered,” he said, “we will continue to investigate.”
Zamora noted that at the time, the Harris County District Attorney’s Office declined to file charges pending the final outcome of the ongoing police investigation.
